Fusion Malin: a bubble shooter game where numbers are hit points

Fusion Malin is a bubble shooter game for Android in which numbered bubbles fall down the screen, your straw fires nails to pop them, and a boss waits at the end of every stage. The number in a bubble is its hit points.

A 12 means 12 nails, so you read the numbers and decide quickly where to aim. It is an action game with a little mental arithmetic hidden inside.

What you will find inside the bubble shooter game

  • Ten stages and ten bosses, from the Bubble King to the Bubble Queen, a giant final boss with four phases.
  • An endless mode once the Queen has fallen.
  • A new enemy type in each stage, including the Kamikaze and the Armoured one.
  • Spike mines and sleeping mines that only a bomb can destroy.
  • Bonuses: weapon upgrade up to level 5, rapid fire, shield, extra life, bomb and coins.
  • A workshop to spend coins on permanent upgrades.
  • A daily challenge, weekly leagues against 29 players, more than 60 badges and chests.

A game lasts from two to fifteen minutes. The listing states that it has no advertising and no in-app purchases, and that it exists in French and in English.

Who it is for

Children, teenagers and the whole family can play, since games are short and the learning curve is gentle.

A Google account keeps your progress and lets you appear in the rankings.

Where numbers and science meet

Deciding quickly which target needs 3 hits and which needs 12 is estimation under pressure. Estimation is a skill used when checking results in our physics and chemistry courses.

Treat the game as a reward after a session with the AP Physics 1 worksheets. Ten minutes of action then returns you to the next problem with a fresh head.

Powers, workshop and endless mode

After each boss you choose one power out of three, such as a friendly drone, bouncing nails, a rear shot, shield bubbles, a super magnet or auto-aim, and you can raise it to level 3.

The workshop lets you spend coins on permanent upgrades, for example reinforced nails, faster fire, a starting shield and reserve bombs. These choices turn each run into a small planning exercise.

A combo of up to five times multiplies your points when you clear bubbles without being hit, and a near miss earns a bonus. When the final boss falls, the endless mode keeps the action going.

Tips to survive longer

  • Pop low-numbered bubbles first to reduce incoming fire.
  • Pick powers that match your style, such as the drone or the rear shot.
  • Keep your bomb for a screen full of large numbers.
  • Spend coins on a starting shield before attempting a boss.
