Planète Maths is a math learning app for Android that covers 17 levels, from CP (Grade 1) to Licence 3, the third year of a French university degree. Zyro, a small alien explorer, explains each idea in simple words.
The app has no advertising, needs no account and works without an internet connection, so it is easy to use on a bus or in a lab corridor, for a few minutes at a time.

Getting started in four steps
- Install Planète Maths on your Android phone or tablet.
- Create a nickname and an avatar. They stay on your phone.
- Choose a level and a chapter, then read the lesson with its methods and solved examples.
- Practise with problems, a 10-question quiz and the chapter test marked out of 20.
What the math learning app offers
- Lessons with definitions, step-by-step methods, solved examples and diagrams.
- Problems graded with one, two or three stars, from easy to hard.
- Quizzes of 10 questions with instant feedback, Zyro’s explanations and sounds.
- One test per chapter, marked out of 20.
- Ten interactive tools: GCD and LCM, prime factors, fractions, percentages, cross-multiplication, mean and median, the Pythagorean theorem, equations, second-degree equations and a unit converter.
- Zyro’s Challenge and the daily challenge: timed mental maths with points, streaks of correct answers and records.
The profile you create is only a nickname and an avatar. It collects points, records and days in a row, which gives a clear picture of your regularity. Think of it as a logbook: a few minutes per day is more useful than a long session once a month.
The 17 levels
The levels are CP, CE1, CE2, CM1 and CM2 for primary school (Grades 1 to 5), then 6ème, 5ème, 4ème and 3ème (Grades 6 to 9), 2de, 1ère and Terminale (Grades 10 to 12), Maths Sup, Maths Spé, and Licence 1 to 3. Topics run from numbers and calculation to geometry, functions, sequences, probability, linear algebra and analysis.
A good fit for science learners
A physics or chemistry student needs math that is reliable and quick. This app lets you revise one skill at a time, whether it is a unit conversion, a percentage, a mean or an equation, and it keeps a record of your streak days so that the habit builds up. You can switch the app between French and English at any moment with the flags, which is useful if your science course is in English and your French classmates use French terms.
Higher levels such as Maths Sup, Maths Spé and Licence 1 to 3 are useful for students heading to science degrees, where linear algebra and analysis support mechanics, electromagnetism and thermodynamics. Starting with the lower levels is also possible, since you can choose any level and go back to rebuild a weak foundation.
Linking with the website
Printable PDF sheets and the books of the Planète Maths collection are on the Planète Maths website, reachable from the app. For science resources in English, visit our English homepage.
Tips
- Do the daily challenge at a fixed hour, as you would take a measurement at a fixed time.
- After a wrong answer, read Zyro’s explanation before moving on and retry the same question the next day.
