Quick answer: The emf of a source is the energy it gives each coulomb of charge. This Physics 11-12 test on internal resistance has 8 questions worth 20 marks, to do in 45 minutes: emf and lost volts, cell and resistor and junction. The mark scheme is on a separate page; free printable PDF.

This test covers emf, internal resistance, Kirchhoff’s laws and potential dividers. Give every numerical answer with its unit and show the formula and the substitution. Treat voltmeters as ideal unless the question states otherwise.
